FAQ

Questions, answered

How is this different from Title Case?

Capitalized Case uppercases every word, including short words like “of” and “the”. Title Case keeps those small words lowercase according to a style guide.

Is this a proper case converter?

Yes. Proper case, capital case, and cap case usually mean this Start Case transform — each word begins with a capital letter. It is not ALL CAPS.

Does it fix iPhone and NASA?

With smart casing on, yes. After capitalizing each word it overlays a dictionary of brands and acronyms.

Are hyphenated words handled?

Each whitespace-separated token is capitalized at the first letter. Use Title Case if you need hyphen rules from AP or Chicago.

When should I use this?

Form labels, playlist titles, and Start Case headings where every word should stand up.
